Topic SixIt's just not fair
As a follower of Christ, I would like to understand the world in the same way He does.
As a fallible human, I am regularly mistaken in thinking that I do see the world the same way He does.
The reality is that I don’t even know how different my worldview is to His. I am still highly influenced by my culture. Even when I think I have grasped a kingdom principle, I am still interpreting this through my cultural bias.
But, the bible shows that God was ready for someone like me. Paul says be “transformed by the renewing of your mind” (Rom 12:2). Renewing is a verb. It is a ‘doing word’ – therefore there is a process I am going through.
Our culture puts a premium on ideas such as freedom, equality and tolerance. Am I aware how these values are being constantly reinforced? Do they please God? How do I navigate my life where there are cultural values, which are diametrically opposed to the way Christ has called us to live?
Thankfully, the bible has shown that God is ready for questions like this too…
